With road transport driving 72% of transport CO2 emissions and freight emissions still concentrated at about 0.9 Gt for air and 1.8 Gt for maritime in 2023, sustainability and risk pressures are pushing regulators to act now, as shown by the EU’s 2018/644 rule requiring real time traffic information for road freight.
